Cookies and browser storage

Aelix uses cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect account access and remember choices you make in the app.

Updated 28 September 2026

Sign-in and security cookies

The aelix_session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Signing out clears it. Blocking this cookie prevents signed-in features from working.

When you use Google, GitHub or Apple sign-in, temporary cookies bind the sign-in request to your browser. The sign-in checks last up to 10 minutes; a completion cookie lasts up to two minutes. They are cleared when the flow completes or is canceled by the service.

If two-step verification is enabled, the aelix_mfa_challenge cookie holds a temporary sign-in challenge for up to five minutes. Authentication cookies are protected from direct access by page scripts and use secure transport in production.

Saved preferences and offline access

Local browser storage saves your SuperAgent model preferences on this device. Clearing it resets those saved choices.

The installable app stores an offline notice so it can show a useful page when a connection fails. Its service worker does not cache chat or API responses.

Your browser controls

You can remove cookies and local storage in your browser's site settings. This can sign you out and remove local drafts or preferences. Clearing browser data does not delete your Aelix account, server-stored conversations or media.

Sign-in and checkout open services such as Google, GitHub, Apple or Stripe. Those services may use their own cookies and explain them in their own notices.
